Vidas Zenonas Antonovas si vysloužil zápis v knize nejzajímavějších zločinců Sovětského svazu. Ze státních institucí ukradl kolem milionu rublů. S několika komplici unesl letadlo s pasažéry a zmizel s ním v Africe. Přezdívalo se mu „Otec mafie". Dvacet let života strávil v patnácti vězeních. Nyní je mu sedmdesát jedna let a má velkou rodinu- deset dětí, dvě vnoučata a novorozeného syna.

Dokument vypráví o hodnotách bývalého vězně, o muži, který se postavil času i osudu, o síle neutuchající touhy žít. Vypráví také příběh lásky jedné rodiny. Nenabízí romantické chvilky ani zázračné změny. Má však silný potenciál pozměnit naše představy o tom, co je to šťastná a milující rodina a jaká by vlastně měla být.
