I'm sharing this here for the time. It may get removed. Neil Young went into studio in 1983 to record two new albums for Geffen records. The first was an early version of Everybody's Rockin' and the second was Old Ways 1(different from the 1985 release). So...what made Old Ways 1 different than the 1985 Old Ways album? Well, it was a demo EP and only has 6 tracks. It was rejected by Geffen records and replaced with a more finished version of "Everbody's Rockin." The line-up was different. The original line-up for Old Ways 1 included: Neil Young(lead vocals/backing vocals, guitars, banjo, harmonica), Ben Keith(pedal steel, dobro, backing vocals, keys), Rufus Thibodeaux(fiddle), Anthony Crawford(harmony and backing vocals, second guitar, banjo, mandolin), Spooner Oldham(piano, organ), Karl Himmel(drums), and Tim Drummond(bass). Track listing and additional song info: 1. Old Ways original(different version than 1985) 2. Depression Blues(pretty much the same as that released on "Lucky Thirteen" but this was recorded during the Old Ways 1 sessions) 3. California Sunset(not too over produced like the 85' version and includes more vibrant backing vocals by Crawford) 4. My Boy(one of few songs recorded during Old Ways 1, which remains almost/if not identical to the version released in 85') 5. Are There Anymore Real Cowboys?(original 83' version without Willie Nelson) 6. Silver and Gold(this is the earliest known recording of Silver and Gold...long before the album of 2000. In the lyric notes for the 2000 album Silver and Gold you can find the copyright year for each song. Neil even lists Silver and Gold as being written in 1983...this is that version. Enjoy it, it's about as rare as you can get!) All rights belong to Neil Young. These were recorded by Neil Young and at the time Geffen rejected these recordings.
